Concept
The UK Government wanted American investors in Silicon Valley's backyard.
I rejected the expected sterile tech explainer. Instead: paper cut-outs, stop-motion rhythm, a handmade quality that feels substantial. For investors drowning in polished pitch decks, this grounded aesthetic cuts through.
The strategic challenge was converting intangibles into investment thesis. I framed the UK's strengths through the only lens that matters—proven pathways to returns. By positioning UK tech as the intersection of invention and industriousness, I transformed cultural attributes into investment fundamentals.
The testimonial integration was critical. Animation alone is assertion. Weaving in actual founders and investors who've already made the leap provides the social proof that closes deals—answering the question lurking beneath every opportunity: "Who else is in?"
The result: the UK Government positions itself not as a bureaucratic entity courting investment, but as a confident curator of opportunity.
Strategy
The handcrafted aesthetic was the strategy. Everyone else is chasing perfection. I chose imperfection—visible seams, analog warmth—to make the UK feel less like an underdog and more like an original.
